Sr Stanislaus Kennedy a member of the congregation of Religious Sisters of Charity and the founder of Focus Ireland, a service set up to support people who are homeless. As part of their range of services, Focus offers advice, advocacy, information and help with finding a home. This week, we are delighted to offer our congratulations to Sr Stan, who was placed first in the Irish Independent Reader’s Poll for the top 100 women in Irish history! Sr Stan is a visionary and social innovator, so it’s great to see her tireless work on social issues recognised in this way. She is an inspiration.
This Week:
Read one of Sr Stanislaus latest books on mindfulness, ‘Day by Day’. It is a great resource for inspirational quotes and practicing mindfulness.
In 1998 Sr Stan founded The Sanctuary, a meditation/spirituality centre in the heart of Dublin city where people can find a quiet space and time for themselves. Check out www.sanctuary.ie for courses on mindfulness and meditation. The Sanctuary also offers retreat days for adults and children.
